Time-Line Healing: A Journey Back to Move Forward

Time-Line Healing is a powerful process that takes us back through the chapters of our lives to help us understand and heal what we’re still carrying—so that we can let go.

For many, this means revisiting childhood, adolescence, and adulthood to uncover the pain, beliefs, and patterns that still affect the present. For others, it includes past life regression and spiritual time travel, healing not just this life, but what we’ve brought with us from before.

It’s about going back with kindness, compassion, love and non-judgment. It is seeing how it was for us then—from our Present Adult Self—and understanding that we were just a child, just an adolescent, just a younger adult coping, managing, and navigating life the best we could because of who we were at that time.

‘Going back’ is about healing those parts of us—putting us back together so we can truly move forward. All of us. Freer, lighter, and more whole. It is truly a life-changing process.

Looking Back to Move Forward

In most cases, therapy involves a therapist taking a client ‘back to the past’—looking at their life story from birth to the present day, and the people who shaped it. Someone may come with something they’re struggling with right now, for example: stress at work, anxiety, or the ending of a relationship. But to really understand where the pain is coming from, we—you and me, as your guide—have to gently and carefully go back.

That means revisiting childhood—maybe even birth—and looking at the key relationships: parents, siblings, carers, and others who were around. What was school like? What were the friendships like? The teachers? The early influences?

What is the Inner Child still holding onto? What did they come to believe about themselves? What did they have to endure, navigate, or survive?

The Personas We Create

Often, we find the answers there—perfectionism, people-pleasing, being the ‘good girl’, the overachiever, the rescuer… personas created for approval, for love, for safety. We begin to see the beliefs that were formed, the protective behaviours, the heartbreak, the grief and loss, the fear, the trauma.

Then we move forward into adolescence—what is the Inner Adolescent still carrying? What were those years like? How did they manage the pain of childhood? How did they protect the Inner Child and themselves? What did they learn to do to fit in, to belong, to survive?

And then we move into early adulthood—what I call the life of the Historical Adult. What happened then? Who were they becoming? What shaped them, hardened them, inspired them, or broke them down?

Healing the Inner Timeline

This is our Time Line. And Time Travel for Time-Line Healing is the process of going back—visiting those versions of ourselves, seeing what it was like for them, honouring their stories, and allowing them to heal.

It is about recovering, reconciling with the parts of us we judged, abandoned and denied, and it is about repair: repairing the relationship with our Inner Child, our Inner Adolescent and our Historical Adult—because I don’t know about you, but I once seriously judged them all… but didn’t know that I did. What I said to myself—those nine demons of the Inner Critic and Judge—told me how much.

And when we do let go of the past and all that we believed about ourself…When we love, care for and honour those courageous parts of us…When we rewrite the old story…We move into a new life. The life we know, deep down, we are meant to truly live—the life of our True Authentic Self.

A Personal Experience of Time-Line Healing

This work has changed my life.

I’ve returned many times to my childhood to be with my Inner Child—to love her, to hear her, to take care of her and help her heal.

I’ve returned to my adolescence and early adulthood too. To the adolescent I abandoned because it was too traumatic to go there—leaving her stuck, traumatised and in need of an Adult to be there for her.

I’ve been able to reframe so much, to take my power back, to let it go.

And that is what this way of ‘working’ can do for you.We have all the tools inside of us.

The Beginning of Change

Because when we’re stuck in the past, we relive it without even knowing. It is just under the surface of our consciousness, with the old behaviours and beliefs still being played out.

When we stay in situations that deep down we know aren’t right—it keeps us from the life we could be living.

Sometimes, leaving that place—emotionally or physically—is the hardest decision of all.But there’s so much waiting on the other side.

It’s there for us. Just knowing that… is the beginning of change.
